Ron Finkel AM is a well-known Melbourne-based businessman. He is the Managing Director of Momentum Ventures Ltd., one of the first venture capital funds established in Australia.

Ron is a graduate of law and commerce from Melbourne University.

In 1973 he was elected President of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS), based in London. Ron served as the President of WUJS until March 1977 when he moved with his family to Israel. Ron lived for nine years in Jerusalem before returning to Australia with his wife and three children in late 1985.

A leading member of the Australian Jewish community, Ron has been President and Chairman of a number of communal organisations and in 2003 was elected President of Hadassah Australia, the Australian ‘Friends’ of Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

Under Ron’s leadership, Hadassah Australia has become a national Jewish communal organisation raising significant funds annually for projects associated with the Hadassah Hospital.

In 2013, Ron established Project Rozana, an initiative to build better understanding between Israelis and Palestinians through health. Today Project Rozana is active in Australia, Canada, Israel and the US and its programs have touched the lives of many thousands of people in Israel and Palestine.

Ron was the founder of AUSiMED an Australian charity that facilitates medical research collaborations between Israel and Australia.

He is the immediate past chairman of the Australia Arava Partnership, an initiative promoting people to people contact between the community of the Central Arava in Israel and the Jewish Community of Australia.
