AIIA MAASARWE MEMORIAL MEDICAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

In January 2019, the life of Aiia Maasarwe, a Palestinian-Israeli exchange student, was brutally taken from her. The death shocked the people of Melbourne, who wanted answers. Even more, they wanted to honour her memory.

With the support of Aiia’s family, Project Rozana Australia created the Aiia Maasarwe Memorial Medical Fellowship Program. This will fund the specialist training of Palestinian medics in Israel. Working alongside some of Israel’s most accomplished medical experts, they will take their training in needed in sub-specialties back to the West Bank and Gaza, to better treat their community and build the health capacity of Palestinian society. Healthcare is one of the few areas of civil society where Israelis and Palestinians meet each day and in mutual respect.

Improving healthcare for Palestinians is core to Project Rozana. It also means less demand on the Israeli health system. We urge you to support this new program, and… Remember Aiia.
